The challenge of developing an all-new faith formation program that meets the needs of today's parishes and schools in an authentic and heartfelt way called for a unique combination of talents, gifts, and experience. The expert development team that came together over the four years of the program's creation brought the best of themselves to this project. The making of Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts was truly an act of faith. Those leading the development team see their work as their professional response to God's gifts to them throughout their lives.

Program Co-Authors
BARBARA F. CAMPBELL, M.DIV., D.MIN.
Vice President of Catechesis and Faith Formation, Loyola Press
"Real faith formation happens in the interchange and interaction of the catechist with the kids. There is something about the human being, as a person of faith, that makes the books come to life. It is in these moments when catechists share their own faith with children that faith formation occurs."

JAMES P. CAMPBELL, M.A., D.MIN.
Staff Theologian, Loyola Press
"Scripture is the lifeblood of catechesis. Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts will enhance the child's appreciation and understanding of Scripture within the Catholic tradition. Scripture stories and citations lead the child to a closer relationship with God within the context of the Catholic faith."

Senior Program Consultants
JANE E. REGAN, PH.D.
Professor of Theology, Boston College; nationally recognized author and speaker with expertise in adult faith formation and catechetical leadership
"The hope of the Church is that adults will live their faith in daily life and will be able to talk with their children about the presence of God in their lives, including God's action within the family. But making these faith and family connections with any level of ease comes only when the adults are comfortable talking about their faith with other adults."

RICHARD HAUSER, S.J., PH.D., S.T.L.
Professor of Theology and Department Chair, Creighton University; Catholic author with expertise in theology, contemporary and Ignatian spirituality, and discernment
"Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts is a catechetical program rooted in an authentic Catholic spirituality, one with 500 years of experience and tradition grounding it. It reflects an Ignatian approach, seeking to recognize God and God's love in all things and to help people respond to that love."

ROBERT FABING, S.J., D.MIN.
Director of the Jesuit Institute for Family Life, Los Altos, Calif.; licensed therapist, retreat director, author, and liturgical composer; expertise in psychology, Ignatian spirituality, and liturgical music
"As catechists, we humbly provide others with the content, the experiences, a caring climate for faith formation—and the Holy Spirit does the work."

Other Contributors
MARLENE HALPIN, O.P., PH.D.
Director of the Loyola Press Companions in Prayer Program and Catechetical staff member; nationally recognized speaker with expertise in leading children in prayer and teaching others how to pray with children
"We can't overemphasize the importance of parents and catechists praying with children. This goes much further than: I'm going to pray with children now. This kind of participation expresses: we are together and we need to remember God. We need to remember that we depend on God for everything and that God is very active in our lives. What a great legacy and heritage to give to children—to let them know they can always talk with God. They need to learn from us that prayer is normal and natural. Pascal calls it 'a God-sized hole in the heart and only God can fill it.'"

TOM MCGRATH
Best-selling Catholic author and national speaker; past Editor of U.S. Catholic magazine; expertise in helping parents nurture faith within their families
"Parents love their children fiercely and they have the gift of the Holy Spirit—they have everything it takes to raise their kids with a living faith. Yet they often feel totally inept in their role. They underestimate the value of ordinary family life as a channel of faith. This program's resources help parents recognize God's action within their family and discover the treasure chest they already have."

MIMI MCREAVY BITZAN
Freelance Catholic writer and communications consultant; parish director of adult faith formation, St. Cloud, Minn.; expertise in lifelong faith learning, adult retreats, and sacramental preparation programs
"Imagine faith formation experiences that involve everyone! Imagine a program that responds to the need for adults to continue to learn and grow in faith. These experiences will lead adults to make strong connections between their faith and the way they live their lives."
