The beautiful art in Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts captures the spirit of the faith messages presented and truly supports the words of the text and our rich Catholic tradition. Finding or creating the art was a task Loyola Press approached with sincere commitment.

After conducting interviews and auditions, Loyola Press commissioned artists to provide the highest quality imaginative and realistic art that supports each session and reflects Catholic identity in engaging and age-appropriate ways. We conducted dozens of specialized photo shoots to be sure to get exactly the right expression and meaning in each photograph in order to convey the truths of faith visually. We also strove to procure the rights to the best fine art so that children and their catechists can share in the rich artistic history and tradition of the Catholic Church. This meant culling through art books, visiting museums, and researching via the Internet. Sometimes it meant hiring photographers to access pictures and monuments throughout the country, and even internationally when necessary.

The diversity of fine art that appears in Finding God depicts Catholic Tradition through a variety of ethnic and cultural images. As a result of extensive research, the illustrations of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and Peter respectfully and consistently reflect their Semitic heritage. Illustrations and photographs have been carefully designed and selected to depict people of various cultures, ethnicity, and economic status throughout the world so that the rich diversity of God's family is represented.

We did not stop by designing beautiful Children's Books. Loyola Press recognizes the importance of nurturing the artistic imaginations of adults involved in faith formation too. The Catechist Guide's Preparation pages are full of beautiful images that strengthen the messages for the catechists as they deepen their own spirituality and learn more about the faith. The art in the Parent Pages and Parent Newsletters reflects respect for parents as adult learners and enhances the messages presented in each session.

Our designers, photographers, and artists expressed a sincere sense of honor and excitement in building the pages of the program. The care with which Loyola Press created Finding God is evident from the cover design to every internal page of each book, and extends to such supplementary components as the posters. The art authentically supports the faith messages everywhere it appears.
