Every grade of Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts includes a CD with dramatized recordings of Scripture stories that bring the Bible to life for adults and children alike. As an integral part of the Finding God program, they encourage internalization of faith themes by engaging the imagination to open hearts and minds.

Loyola Press decided to create the CDs to help support the active integration of Scripture messages with daily life. Unlike videos that present children with a set of actors or characters that define the pictures for them, the audio CDs allow the stories themselves to shine through so that children—and the adults listening with them—can actively visualize how the people might look and even imagine themselves as witnesses or participants in the stories.

Background sound effects were carefully added to enhance the listening experience. Children can hear the sounds of angels' wings flapping, crowds murmuring as they gather before Jesus, animals in the stable in Bethlehem, the roof crumbling as believers lower their paralyzed friend to be healed, and more—all helping to engage children fully in the stories.

To create these high-quality recordings, Loyola Press partnered with award-winning Media Creature Music of Los Angeles, California, who also produced Finding God's Guided Reflections and Music offerings. This partnership recorded the Scripture tracks at Firehouse Recording Studios, one of the largest and most advanced digital studios in North America.

The Scriptures are voiced by professional actors and feature Catholics Martin Sheen and Rita Moreno as narrators. Other actors participating in the project have voice credits that include animated Scooby-Doo specials, Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and many Disney voice-work credits, including Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc. and A Bug's Life. This quality of talent and the carefully chosen background music and sound effects combine to create a unique CD feature that encourages and excites children to explore the Bible.
