In addition to resources for children, their catechists, and their parents, Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts offers ready-to-use supplemental components for adult faith formation that correspond to the structure of the children's program and nurture a vibrant parish community.
These unique sessions provide all the resources for parish ministers to bring adults together for meaningful conversation and faith sharing. Adults need help identifying and articulating their faith experiences, and they need models that support them in talking about their faith with others. The program's Gathering Sessions—written by Jane E. Regan and Mimi McReavy Bitzan—are five, ready-to-use, 60-minute sessions for adults in the parish. These sessions have been used in parishes and refined by the authors for more than 15 years and have been proven effective. They offer, with complete instructions,
- opportunities for social interaction, presentation, conversation, and reflection
- a discussion model that cultivates conversations about things that matter
- a highly flexible format—sessions that can be done in sequence or alone and can be independent or related to the pace of the children's program
- ease of implementation—the total number of sessions facilitated can be easily adjusted to parish needs
- summarizing handouts for participants available in Spanish and English
Five new Gathering Sessions are provided to Finding God users annually at no extra charge.
